Lubaina Himid nominated for Turner Prize 2017

Lubaina is one of four artists nominated for the Turner Prize 2017. The other nominees are Hurvin Anderson, Andrea Buttner and Rosalind Nashashibi.

For the last five years, the Turner Prize has been staged outside of London every other year and for 2017 it will be staged at Ferens Art Gallery in Hull as part of the UK City of Culture programme. The exhibition will run from 26 September 2017 to 7 January 2018

Established in 1984, the Turner Prize has become one of the most prestigious visual arts awards in the world. Previous winners have included Gilbert and George, Damien First, Grayson Perry and Gillian Wearing.
