The Tenderness Only We Can See is a new constellation of paintings by Lubaina Himid that moves across canvas and wood, in drawers and on case, with one thing speaking to the next. Lubaina states “The paintings in the show are speaking different languages, to me and to each other; some of them are secret. Other lines of communication attempt to hold their inner narratives together, in the end old songs and other people’s poems are all that is left.”
This new solo exhibition is at Hollybush Gardens gallery in London, her second solo show there, the first being in 2013. Works included in this exhibition: The Tenderness Only We Can See, Chopin’s Heart, The Captain & The Mate, Her Print On Me,
