Tate St Ives 1999/2000
Shown at Tate St Ives in Cornwall in 1999/2000 after two periods of residency developing ideas and making a series of paperworks, working in the Lifeguards Hut on Porthmeor Beach.
Magic tricks, changing light, relentless tides, crazy perspectives, optical illusions, and poetic texts, empty chairs and the ‘choice’ offered by two canvas paintings clarifies and confuses everything. However I have to admit this totally expresses the point of the whole body of work. How do you tell the difference between war and peace?
